Kuala lumpur: Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today as investors awaited the release of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting minutes next week.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, at the close, the spot-month July 2026 contract fell to US$4,054.50 per troy ounce from US$4,091.50 per troy ounce on Thursday. The August 2026 contract eased to US$4,074.20 per troy ounce from US$4,111.80 per troy ounce, while the September 2026 contract went down to US$4,087.00 per troy ounce from US$4,125.20 per troy ounce.
The October 2026 and December 2026 contracts both experienced a drop, closing at US$4,117.50 per troy ounce from US$4,155.70 per troy ounce previously. Trading volume declined to 134 lots from 156 lots yesterday, and open interest slid to 210 contracts from 225 contracts.
Physical gold was fixed at US$4,044.90 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on July 23, 2026.
