Gold Futures Drop as US COMEX Influences Market

Kuala lumpur: Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today, following the decline in gold futures on the United States Commodity Exchange (COMEX).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the spot-month September 2026 contract decreased to US$4,401.70 per troy ounce from US$4,409.10 per troy ounce on Wednesday, and October 2026 slid to US$4,417.10 per troy ounce from US$4,424.50 per troy ounce. November 2026 slipped to US$4,432.40 per troy ounce from US$4,438.80 per troy ounce, while December 2026, February 2027, and April 2027 all eased to US$4,440.20 per troy ounce from US$4,446.60 per troy ounce previously.

Trading volume rose to 250 lots from 213 lots yesterday, while open interest widened to 299 contracts from 266 contracts. Physical gold was fixed at US$4,414.90 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association's afternoon fix on September 9, 2026.
