GOF Tenggara Brigade Records Over RM850 Mln In Seizures Last Year

Tenggara: The Tenggara Brigade of the General Operations Force (GOF) seized more than RM850 million of goods from various enforcement operations carried out last year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tenggara Brigade GOF commander SAC Ahmad Radzi Hussain said the success involved 2,479 cases recorded, with 2,372 arrests made during the period. He noted that among the largest seizures recorded were 12 cases related to solid waste and electronic waste (e-waste), involving seizures worth RM410.6 million and 10 arrests.

'In addition, 390 cases involving agricultural produce, including plants, trees, fruits and crop yields, were recorded with 353 arrests and seizures valued at RM145.5 million, while 73 cases were under the Ops Bersepadu Khazanah with 176 arrests and seizures worth RM144.7 million,' he told Bernama today.

Ahmad Radzi emphasized that the achievement reflected the high level of commitment and preparedness of Tenggara Brigade personnel in combating cross-border crime, smuggling, and illegal activities that threaten national security.

Further detailing the operations, Ahmad Radzi stated that the 7th Battalion of GOF recorded the highest value of seizures at RM492 million from 768 cases involving 591 arrests. This was followed by the 8th Battalion and 9th Battalion, which recorded RM188.2 million and RM115.5 million respectively, while the Tenggara Brigade PGA headquarters recorded RM57.8 million.

On the Ops Taring Wawasan Kelantan, he highlighted that the special operation to curb smuggling and illegal activities along the Kelantan border showed a significant impact when 2,129 cases and 1,832 arrests were recorded, with total seizures amounting to RM329.6 million.
