Girl Guides Association of Malaysia Highlights UNITY Framework at Conference

Kuala Lumpur: The Girl Guides Association of Malaysia reinforced its commitment to promoting unity irrespective of race, religion, and social status, focusing on a framework known as UNITY, which stands for United, Networking, Inclusive, Teamwork, and Youth-Driven.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the association’s chief commissioner, Datuk Yeoh Soo Keng, highlighted the positive outcomes and national benefits achieved through their administration based on the UNITY framework. At the Girl Guides Conference, she emphasized the ongoing support and prioritization of this concept, which underscores togetherness and openness in embracing members’ perspectives.

Yeoh pointed out that the association’s successful programs and activities, ranging from school initiatives to international engagements, demonstrate its efficacy in developing character and leadership skills among young women. The event was inaugurated by Tengku Amalin A’ishah Putri Sultan Ismail Petra, the younger sister of the Sultan of Kelantan.

She noted the significant impact of the association’s presence at all levels and attributed these accomplishments to the support and collaboration of various stakeholders. Furthermore, she mentioned that the association’s operations align with national educational objectives, backed by the Ministry of Education.

The conference, spanning two days, has attracted nearly 200 representatives and committee members from across Malaysia, showcasing the association’s role as a valued strategic partner in national development.
