FBM KLCI Futures Close Lower

Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, tracking the performance of the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at the close, the May 2025 and September 2025 contracts declined by 14.0 points each to settle at 1,553.0 and 1,537.5, respectively. Meanwhile, the June 2025 contract dropped 15.0 points to 1,552.5, and the December 2025 contract fell 14.5 points to 1,545.5.

Turnover decreased to 5,451 lots compared to 5,912 lots on Friday, indicating a reduction in trading activity. However, open interest showed a slight increase, rising to 39,659 contracts from the previous 39,634 contracts.

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself experienced a decline, falling 15.61 points, or 0.99 percent, to 1,556.14 from its previous close of 1,571.75 last Friday.
