Gamuda Reports Record Earnings for FY2026 with Strong Construction Performance

Kuala Lumpur:Gamuda Bhd's net profit increased by 5% to RM1.052 billion for the financial year ending July 31, 2026, achieving its fifth consecutive year of record earnings. Revenue surged by 14% to reach an unprecedented RM18.6 billion, bolstered by a robust construction sector that saw its order book climb to RM61 billion.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the construction segment remained the primary driver of earnings, with domestic construction profits rising by 49% to RM461 million, largely fueled by the data center segment. Including international projects, total construction earnings increased by 19% to RM742 million.

In the fourth quarter ending July 31, 2026, Gamuda's net profit also grew by 5% to RM350 million, with revenue increasing by 19% to RM5.8 billion. However, the property division experienced a decline, with quarterly revenue and net profit dropping by 14% and 41%, respectively, due to slower sales conversion in Malaysian townships.

At the end of July 2026, Gamuda's net gearing was 72%, slightly above its self-imposed limit of 70%, attributed to land acquisitions in Vietnam and Singapore aimed at replenishing its quick-turnaround projects portfolio. Despite this, the company generated strong operating cash flow, reporting nearly RM800 million in surplus cash for the year.

Gamuda anticipates that its gearing will moderate from the following year, supported by cash inflows from its record construction order book and RM7.6 billion in unbilled property sales. The company also highlighted that its Eaton Park project in Vietnam is nearly sold out, noting that Vietnamese regulations allow developers to collect up to 50% of the sales value during construction, with the balance received upon project completion.
