Gamuda-Dong Pi JV Secures RM3.72 Billion Kaohsiung Port Project

Kaohsiung: Gamuda Bhd, in partnership with Taiwan-based Dong Pi Co Ltd, has been awarded a significant contract for the construction of a wharf and connecting roads at the Kaohsiung Port Intercontinental Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal in Taiwan. The project is valued at RM3.72 billion.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the contract was awarded to the unincorporated joint venture, with Gamuda holding a 70 percent stake and Dong Pi Co Ltd holding the remaining 30 percent. The award was granted by the Taiwan International Ports Corp Ltd Kaohsiung Branch, which is the state-owned authority managing the Port of Kaohsiung.

The project involves the construction of a 2.19-kilometre seawall, a 1.2-kilometre connecting bridge, a wharf, an unloading platform, a connecting platform, and caisson-type docks. The aim is to establish a comprehensive process for the offshore unloading and onshore receiving of LNG, ensuring the efficient import, storage, and regasification of LNG for delivery to Dalin and its surrounding areas.

Gamuda has projected that the project will generate approximately RM2.60 billion in revenue for the company. It is expected to positively impact the group’s revenue and earnings starting from the financial year ending July 31, 2026, and is anticipated to be completed within five years.
