Nanping: The 2025 Fujian Provincial Conference on the Development of Cultural and Tourism Economy is taking place in Nanping City, Fujian Province, with 115 key investment projects expected to be launched, with a total planned investment of 200.7 billion Chinese yuan. (100 Chinese yuan = RM60.39)
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the conference is themed “Cultivating Cultural and Tourism as the Pillar Industry” and aims to revitalize the city and local economy by hosting a series of culturally rich, high-tech events throughout the year, as stated in a statement. The conference spans three days, commencing with an opening ceremony on the evening of April 17. Key events include the Cultural and Tourism Economy Development Conference, the Cultural and Tourism Industry Chain Investment and Financing Matchmaking Event, and the “Year of Cultural and Tourism Consumption” Initiative. Additionally, eight side events, nine major marketing campaigns, and 34 cultural tourism activities will occur across the province, complemented by over 1,200 promotional activities scheduled before and after the conference.
Nanping City is accelerating the development of the “Greater Mt Wuyi Cultural Tourism Circle” through signature initiatives like a digital performing arts project titled “The Moon Reflecting Mt Wuyi,” a cultural project to construct “The Elegance of Fujian” Grand Garden, and various tourism routes. “The Moon Reflecting Mt Wuyi” project utilizes the 270-degree panoramic intelligent water stage system, along with digitally controlled water screens and naked-eye 3D technology, to transform the landscape of “UNESCO Natural and Cultural World Heritage” into a living art scroll.
The Fujian government also plans to introduce over 120 public-benefiting cultural and tourism initiatives. These include consumption subsidies and cross-mall collaboration designed to generate new momentum in the tourism economy.
