Four Suspects Arrested in Connection with Murder of Foreign Worker in Pahang

Kuantan: Three foreigners were among four individuals apprehended in connection with the murder of a foreign worker at a tin mining site in Sungai Bayas, Sungai Lembing. The incident occurred at the workers’ quarters, drawing significant attention to the safety and security conditions at the site.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuantan district police chief ACP Ashari Abu Samah revealed that the suspects include nationals from Bangladesh and Myanmar, along with a local resident. The individuals, aged between 38 and 64, lived in the same quarters as the victim. One suspect reportedly admitted to stabbing the victim, claiming the action was a response to the victim causing a disturbance while under the influence of alcohol.

Authorities recovered a knife at the scene and collected four blood samples for further analysis. The 42-year-old victim succumbed to stab wounds at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital, shortly after the attack, at approximately 3 am.

All four suspects have been remanded for a period of seven days, beginning from the day of the incident. This development marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
