Former Banting Assemblywoman Fatimah Suhaimi Passes Away at 84

Banting: Former Banting Assemblywoman Datin Fatimah Suhaimi, aged 84, passed away at 4 am today at Columbia Asia Puchong due to old age. Her son, Mohd Zyad Jaafar, 42, confirmed the news when contacted by Bernama.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fatimah was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday after her health began to decline. She received medical treatment for a week before passing away early this morning. Zyad, one of her four children, shared that Fatimah had previously suffered from lung infection and kidney failure.

Her remains are currently at the family home in Kampung Medan, Telok Panglima Garang. The funeral rites will be held at the Jamiul Islamiah Mosque, and she will be laid to rest at the Kampung Medan Islamic Cemetery before the Zuhor prayer today. Fatimah is survived by her four children-three sons and one daughter-and four grandchildren.

Fatimah served as the Banting assemblywoman for three terms starting in 1982. During her career, she held several significant positions in UMNO, including the head of the Kuala Langat Wanita UMNO division.
