Kuala lumpur: A forested area at Bukit Seri Ternas, Tasik Beris, was reported to have caught fire this morning. Sik District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Assistant Fire Superintendent Mohd Jamil Mat Daud stated that his department received an alert regarding the incident at 9.38 am.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the operations commander, upon arrival at the scene, was informed by a ranger about the forest fire occurring on a hill at an elevation of 91.44 metres above sea level. The ranger's initial assessment indicated that the affected area spanned approximately one hectare. The challenging terrain, characterized by rocky paths and numerous bamboo trees, complicated access to the location.

Mohd Jamil revealed that a request has been made through the Fire and Rescue Department's (JBPM) eUdara System for helicopter assistance. This would facilitate aerial surveillance and firefighting efforts using the water bombing method to control and extinguish the fire effectively.
