Foreign Ministry Secretary-General and Kelantan Imam Honored at National Workers’ Day Awards

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs secretary-general, Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin, and the Grand Imam of Kelantan, Dr. Muhammad Hana Pizi Abdullah, were among the distinguished recipients of the National Worker Figure Award for Public Service during the National Workers' Day celebration. The event, themed "MADANI Workers, Pride of the Nation," recognized outstanding contributions to the country's workforce.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amran received the National Employee Icon Award in the Top Management Group category, while Muhammad Hana was honored with the National Employee Icon Award in the Management and Professional Group category. Other notable awardees included Dr. N Thinakaran, who was presented with the National Worker Figure Award for Public Service in the Implementation Group, and Ariffin Sabirin, CEO of Wasiyyah Shoppe Bhd, who received the Executive Worker Award. Sayyidatul Aisyah Sulaiman from Aerospace Technology System Corp was awarded the Employee Figure Award for the Non-Executive category.

Muhammad Adib Ibrahim was named Employee of the Year (PWD), while Telekom Malaysia (TM) secured the Best National Employer Award for Large Company/GLC. The Best National Employer Award for SMEs was given to Green Resource Recovery Sdn Bhd. The Sarawak Teacher's Union won the Best National Trade Union Award for the Public Sector, The Union of Pos Malaysia Berhad Uniformed Staff (UPUS) claimed the award for the Private Sector, and the RISDA Workers' Union of Peninsular Malaysia (KPPRSM) took home the award for the Statutory Body category.

Additionally, the Best Media Award for an individual was presented to Terrence Tan Jian Wai from STAR Media Group, and the Department of Broadcasting Malaysia (RTM) received the Best Media Award for an agency. Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) was awarded the Best Contingent Award. Each winner in the 14 categories received RM10,000 in cash along with an appreciation plaque.

Workers' Day, observed every May 1, serves as a platform to acknowledge the essential contributions of the workforce and aims to enhance the career ecosystem by providing job opportunities and fostering skill development.
