Flight MH720 Lands Safely At KLIA After Declaring Emergency Midflight From Jakarta

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia Airlines Flight MH720 from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur carrying 114 passengers landed safely at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) this evening after declaring an emergency during mid-flight. Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) chief executive officer Datuk Captain Norazman Mahmud confirmed the incident when contacted here today, stating that there was an inflight emergency.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, there were no injuries reported among the passengers. All passengers disembarked and are currently waiting for their baggage, which may take some time. Additionally, arrangements are being made for passengers with connecting flights to ensure their onward journey is managed efficiently.

The distress signal from Flight MH720 was received at 6.02pm, and the aircraft successfully landed at KLIA’s Runway 32R at 6.17pm. The nature of the emergency was not disclosed by the CAAM chief executive officer.
