Felcra Chairman and CEO to Address PAC on Semarak20 Sale Proposal: DPM Zahid.

ALOR GAJAH: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has announced that the chairman and CEO of Felcra Berhad will brief the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the proposed sale of the Semarak20 building located on Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Rural and Regional Development Minister, emphasized the potential ease of selling the commercial building en bloc at the current market price. He stated the need for Felcra’s key figures to provide the PAC with a detailed explanation, as Felcra had taken a loan to construct the complex. He noted the financial burden that could loom over Felcra if the loan is not settled. This statement was made during a press conference following a coordination meeting with state Exco members responsible for the rural portfolio (MEXCLUB).

The PAC recently voiced concerns regarding the sales performance of the building managed by Felcra Berhad, which remains unsold. The proposal is still under discussi
on with several potential buyers. Interest in the Semarak20 building has been shown by local and international companies, including entities from Singapore, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates. Four companies have submitted letters of intent, although Felcra Properties Sdn Bhd (FPSB) is awaiting price offers for further proceedings.

In response to the PAC report, the Rural and Regional Development Ministry (KKDW) affirmed its commitment to ensuring that Felcra and FPSB consistently update the sales status of the Semarak20 project. The ministry assured that these updates would be communicated to its top management via committee meetings led by the secretary-general or the deputy.
