Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, mirroring the positive trend in the cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the April 2025 futures contract saw an increase of 19.0 points, closing at 1,483.5. Similarly, the May 2025 and June 2025 contracts rose by 18.5 points each, settling at 1,481.0 and 1,477.0, respectively. The September 2025 contract also added 16.5 points, ending the day at 1,460.0.
Trading activity showed an uptick, with turnover climbing to 10,411 lots from the previous day’s 8,608 lots. Additionally, open interest grew to 50,723 contracts, compared to the earlier figure of 47,068 contracts.
By 5 pm, the FBM KLCI index itself had strengthened by 6.35 points, reaching 1,483.27, up from the previous close of 1,476.92.
