Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower on Wednesday. The trading session saw declines across various spot months indicating a downward trend in the market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, at the close, the spot months of July 2025 and September 2025 fell 10.5 points each to 1,524.0 and 1,503.0, respectively. Similarly, the August 2025 and December 2025 contracts both declined by 10.0 points, closing at 1,521.50 and 1,502.0, respectively.
The turnover narrowed to 4,032 lots compared to 5,171 on Tuesday, reflecting a decrease in trading activity. Meanwhile, open interest reduced to 36,910 contracts from the previous 37,565, suggesting a lower level of engagement from market participants.
At 5 pm, the benchmark FBM KLCI eased 0.90 points or 0.06 percent to 1,529.24, down from Tuesday’s close of 1,530.14, continuing the downward momentum observed in the futures market.
