Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Wednesday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, at the close, the July 2025 contract decreased by 0.5 points to 1,527.50. The August 2025 and September 2025 contracts each fell by 1.0 point, closing at 1,523.0 and 1,505.0, respectively. Meanwhile, the December 2025 contract saw a drop of 3.5 points, settling at 1,504.0.
Turnover experienced a decline, falling to 16,709 lots from 76,300 on the previous day, while open interest reduced to 54,426 contracts from 120,115. This suggests a reduction in market participation compared to the day before.
At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself showed a slight increase of 0.68 of a point, or 0.05 percent, closing at 1,524.50, slightly up from Tuesday’s close of 1,523.82. This indicates a minor upward movement in the index despite the futures market showing a downward trend.
