FBM KLCI Futures End Day Lower in Bursa Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower, reflecting a weaker cash market performance.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the May 2025 futures contract saw a decline of 6.5 points, settling at 1,538.5. Similarly, the June 2025 contract decreased by 5.5 points to end at 1,537.5. The September 2025 contract experienced a drop of 2.5 points, closing at 1,524.0, while the December 2025 contract fell by 3.5 points to 1,533.0.

Market activity saw an increase as turnover advanced to 6,458 lots compared to 4,344 lots on the previous trading day. Additionally, open interest rose to 38,679 contracts from the earlier figure of 36,250 contracts.

At the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI index slipped 0.46 percent, equivalent to a drop of 7.16 points, bringing it to 1,542.74, down from the previous day’s close of 1,549.90.
