Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives saw an uptick today, reflecting the performance of the cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the April 2025 and September 2025 futures contracts recorded an increase of 3.5 points each, settling at 1,500.0 and 1,481.50, respectively. The May 2025 contract rose by 2.5 points to 1,499.0, while the June 2025 contract gained 4.5 points to end at 1,497.50.
The day’s turnover increased significantly, reaching 27,880 lots compared to 20,286 lots the previous day. Open interest also saw a rise, expanding to 68,239 contracts from the prior 59,269 contracts.
At the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself rose by 5.33 points, equivalent to a 0.36 percent increase, closing at 1,506.52, up from Wednesday’s close of 1,501.19.
