Kuala lumpur: The Agromarketing Masterclass TikTok Shop Edition (AMTTSE) 2025 organised by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) and TikTok Shop recorded sales of RM12 million.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, FAMA director-general Abdul Rashid Bahri highlighted that the five-month programme that began in July was joined by 182 entrepreneurs from 91 companies, reflecting a 94 per cent increase compared to RM6.2 million in 2024. A total of 15 fresh and frozen category companies recorded sales of RM47,000 (USD 10,600), while eight Persons with Disabilities companies recorded sales of RM286,000 with over 1.3 million live views in total. Abdul Rashid noted that some companies tripled their sales by engaging in live streaming with the help of TikTok Shop, marking a significant achievement for FAMA.
He added that the programme’s success demonstrated the capabilities of Malaysian agro-entrepreneurs to compete in the global digital economy, aligning with the National Agrofood Policy 2.0 and the 13th Malaysia Plan to develop high-impact digital entrepreneurs. The ten best FAMA entrepreneurs will participate in the Global Learning Visit in Shanghai, China this December to explore live commerce technology, content creation trends, and international digital innovation models.
TikTok Shop strategic relations director Nur Azre Abdul Aziz mentioned that they launched the single-day delivery system to broaden opportunities for agro-entrepreneurs on the platform. Currently in the pilot phase, orders can be received the same afternoon within the Klang Valley radius of 30 kilometres. They plan to expand this service to more states in the peninsula in the future.
At the award ceremony, former engineer and disabled entrepreneur, Amir Mohsin Mohd Bahrudin, under the ‘Dapur Pak Amir’ brand, won three main awards: Best Overall Entrepreneur, Best Disabled Entrepreneur, and Best Food Category (Intermediate) Entrepreneur. Amir shared his journey from surviving an accident in 2018 to establishing his nasi lemak and online sambal business on TikTok Shop, which now generates a five-figure monthly income. Dapur Pak Amir products include sambal nasi lemak, sambal tempoyak, sambal bilis petai, and sambal talang masin, produced in his factory in Pasir Tumboh, Kelantan.
Meanwhile, Hasdey Puncak Enterprise marketing manager, Siti Aisyah Sulaiman, stated that the AMTTSE programme helped her grasp the digital business landscape and supported her family’s vegetarian fucuk business. By showcasing the production process on live streaming, they increased their sales from RM700 in May to RM45,000 in August, earning a spot among the 10 chosen to join the Global Learning Visit in Shanghai, China.
The Inspirational Entrepreneur Award was claimed by Jasmani Abdul Hamid of Anis Caf© Enterprise, which developed 83 ‘ready to eat’ food products under the brand Jasmani, generating almost 80 per cent of sales via TikTok Shop.
