Faisal Halim Shines As Red Giants Overpower Imigresen FC

Kuala lumpur: Imigresen FC (IFC) continued their run of misfortune after falling 1-3 to Selangor FC in their Super League match at the Stadium Negeri Baru Kawan, Georgetown, this evening. The Red Giants displayed an energetic performance from the start with several dangerous attempts on goal, but both sides failed to break the deadlock in the first half.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in the second half, Selangor FC wasted no time opening the scoring through a powerful strike by Dutch import Alvin Fortes in the 56th minute. The goal stemmed from a slick move by team captain Faisal Halim, who delivered a cross to an unmarked Fortes, allowing him to easily beat goalkeeper Muhammad Farhan Abdul Majid. Stung by the goal, IFC intensified their attacks, and their efforts paid off when import striker Eduardo Sossa equalised in the 66th minute. However, the hosts’ joy was short-lived, as just a minute later (67′), Selangor FC forward Chrigor Flores Moraes struck to restore their lead. Faisal Halim then capped off
a splendid evening for Selangor FC with their third goal in the 71st minute.

Meanwhile, at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) ran riot with a 7-0 demolition of PDRM FC in their Super League clash tonight. Both sides began cautiously as they searched for rhythm, but JDT’s nimble winger Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi punished the PDRM defence with two quick goals in the 28th and 33rd minutes to give his team the lead at half-time. In the second half, Arif Aiman continued to torment the opposition’s backline, this time providing a superb assist for Bergson da Silva to score JDT’s third in the 54th minute, before Eddy Israfilov added a fourth in the 67th minute to further strengthen their advantage. Not to be left out, Jairo da Silva got his name on the scoresheet with the fifth goal in the 77th minute, followed by Romel Morales who netted the sixth in the 83rd minute, before Jairo struck again in the 85th minute to complete JDT’s goal feast.
