In a Facebook post, Fahmi emphasized the importance of the meeting for reinforcing working relationships, exchanging views, and discussing developments concerning Malaysia's international interests.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar Udzir was appointed as Malaysia's Ambassador to Lebanon by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, on May 18, 2026. Fahmi expressed his best wishes for Anwar's success in representing Malaysia in Lebanon and highlighted the ambassador's role in fostering bilateral relations.
Fahmi shared his previous encounter with Anwar during the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo, Japan, last year, where Anwar and his team played a key role in the event's organization. This prior collaboration has laid a foundation for their ongoing professional relationship.
