Nibong tebal: Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek has expressed pride in the remarkable achievement of Year Five pupil Nur Aamily Saffiya Muhd Zabari Izyan of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Permatang Tok Mahat, who has made her mark on the international public speaking stage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Nibong Tebal Member of Parliament said Nur Aamily Saffiya's success at just 11 years old exemplified the confidence pupils should develop to dare to try, speak up and explore new horizons. Last February, she competed in Dubai and returned with a silver medal. In August, she flew to the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom, where she won gold in Public Speaking and was also named among the three best overall participants in the English category.

As the Minister of Education, Fadhlina emphasized the importance of developing such confidence in every child and expressed additional pride as the Nibong Tebal MP. She conveyed these sentiments in a Facebook post today after meeting the pupil.

During the meeting, Fadhlina presented an iPad to Nur Aamily Saffiya to support her learning, expressing hope that it would accompany the pupil on her journey of discovering and exploring new things. She said Nur Aamily Saffiya's achievement was not just about the medals she brought home, but also the vast opportunities that awaited her at such a young age.

Fadhlina also expressed hope that Nur Aamily Saffiya would continue to excel and achieve greater success in the future. Nur Aamily Saffiya recently captured public attention after clinching the gold medal in Public Speaking at the iWISE London Global Final 2026, held at the University of Surrey. The competition, which brought together about 500 contestants from 29 countries, also saw her finish third in the Best Performer category after competing against 50 participants in her category.

She began her journey to the international stage in the online preliminary round before advancing to the Dubai Global Final last February, where she won a silver medal.
