FA Cup Draw: UMD United Coach Calls Upcoming Match Against JDT An Honour

Kuala lumpur: Universiti Malaya Damansara United (UMD United) coach Ridzuan Abu Shah described the match against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in the best 16 of the FA Cup as an honour for his team.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ridzuan stated that the upcoming match will serve as a valuable platform for his players, particularly the new ones, to gain crucial experience by playing alongside top-tier players. This experience is anticipated to be beneficial as they prepare for the A1 Semi Pro League competition.

“The term fear does not exist in managing a football team. What we have is what we use,” Ridzuan remarked during the UMD United jersey launch and player introduction ceremony. He emphasized the importance of leveraging every opportunity to enhance the team’s experience and skills.

At the recent FA Cup draw, defending champions the Southern Tigers were paired against UMD United, while the tournament’s runners-up Selangor FC are set to face Malaysian University FT (MUFT).

Ridzuan also revealed that a t
otal of 28 players, including three imported ones, are set to bolster the team’s lineup for the A1 Semi Pro League competition. He expressed his ambition to see the team finish in the top four during their inaugural appearance in the tournament.
