Extra Ferry Trips Scheduled for Langkawi During Malaysia Day Holiday

Ipoh: About 100,000 visitors are expected to travel to Langkawi Island using passenger ferry services in conjunction with the Malaysia Day public holiday and the school break. Operations Manager of Konsortium Ferry Line Ventures Sdn Bhd, Lt Commander (Rtd) Norhafiz Abdul Wahid, said the figure included both domestic and international visitors entering Langkawi from Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis routes.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a total of 118 additional ferry trips have been introduced in the ticketing system. The expectation is that the number of visitors will exceed 100,000 if more night trips are added. Ferry operations will initially run from 7 am to 7 pm, with possible extensions until 10 pm, depending on the high demand for online ticket sales. This measure aims to accommodate visitors planning their holiday in Langkawi.

The company is committed to ensuring that ferry operations remain active throughout the public holiday and school break. Visitors who wish to purchase tickets online have the option to download the Cuti-Cuti Langkawi application, visit the website www.cuticutilangkawi.com, or buy tickets directly at the ticket counters at the Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis ferry terminals.
