Express Bus Rear-Ends Trailer Lorry, Four Women Injured

Rembau: Four women sustained minor injuries after the express bus that they were travelling in rear-ended a trailer lorry at Kilometre 243.9 of the North-South Expressway, northbound, early this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Operations Commander, Senior Fire Officer I from the Rembau Fire and Rescue Station, Mohd Kassim Arippin, reported that his team received a call about the incident at 2.52 am. The crash involved passengers aged between their 20s and 30s.

The express bus was en route from Larkin, Johor to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, carrying a total of 30 passengers. The group comprised 13 men, 16 women, and a child. Mohd Kassim noted that the injured women received initial treatment from the Emergency Operations Team before ambulances reached the scene.

He further mentioned that all other passengers were unharmed and managed to exit the bus safely before the rescue team arrived. Both the bus driver and the trailer lorry driver emerged from the accident without injuries.

The rescue operation, which involved 16 firefighters from the Rembau, Kota, and Senawang Fire and Rescue Stations, was completed by 4.05 am.
