Kuala lumpur: EPB Group Bhd, a one-stop food processing and packaging machinery solutions provider, has announced its partnership with Shenzhen Honglin Machinery Equipment Co Ltd to drive automation and market expansion across Southeast Asia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the partnership will result in the formation of a new entity, AI Medic Device Equipment Supplies Sdn Bhd, in which EPB will hold an 80 percent equity stake while Shenzhen Honglin’s major shareholder and director, Fan Yanlin, will hold the remaining 20 percent. Shenzhen Honglin is known for its innovations in robotics, semiconductor software, and automated manufacturing technologies. This collaboration aims to serve as a strategic platform for localizing high-tech equipment solutions and expanding EPB’s automation capabilities. It will also diversify its machinery offerings specifically tailored to the food machinery processing industry, integrating robotics and AI-enabled systems to enhance efficiency, hygiene, and production precision.
EPB also announced a sustainability-focused technology partnership with Nidec Corporation, a leader in motor and drive technology, focusing on integrating variable frequency drives (VFDs) into EPB’s principal machinery offerings. This initiative aligns with EPB’s broader commitment to environmental, social, and governance standards and transformational sustainability. The adoption of VFDs is expected to improve energy efficiency, reduce machine wear, lower operational costs, and extend machine life.
EPB managing director Yeoh Chee Min highlighted that these strategic milestones reflect the group’s long-term vision to incorporate sustainability and innovation at all levels of its operations. The partnership with Shenzhen Honglin places EPB at the forefront of robotics and automation in the region, while the collaboration with Nidec enhances the energy efficiency of their machinery and strengthens their ESG credentials. With Nidec’s global network, EPB ensures faster and more reliable maintenance and servicing, providing customers with peace of mind and uninterrupted performance through local agents.
EPB is currently expanding its production footprint in Penang, having acquired 3.173 hectares adjacent to its current facility. Plans are underway to construct a new factory, showroom, and corporate office. The new integrated facility will house the partnership’s advanced manufacturing and research and development functions, supporting EPB’s growing automation portfolio and enabling large-scale, high-volume project deliveries across the region.
