Engaging Key Tourism Stakeholders Crucial for Visit Malaysia 2026, Says Minister

Kuala Lumpur: Engaging key tourism stakeholders, diplomats, and industry players is crucial as Malaysia prepares for Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), said Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing. He noted that this aligns with the MADANI Government’s vision, ensuring that VM2026 not only attracts more tourists but also fosters sustainable bilateral tourism growth.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tiong highlighted the significance of collaboration during a special Ramadan Iftar Evening. The event was organized by the Ministry Of Tourism, Arts And Culture (MOTAC) to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan while strengthening partnerships and expanding networks, particularly in fostering deeper bilateral relationships. The minister emphasized that through collaboration and mutual respect, Malaysia could enhance trade and boost its tourism industries.

The Ramadan Iftar Evening provided a platform for open discussions, business connections, and collaborative efforts to enhance Malaysia’s tourism industry. Present at the event were MOTAC secretary-general Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, Tourism Malaysia chairman Datuk Dr. Yasmin Mahmood, and Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Manoharan Periasamy.

Tiong also stressed the importance of unity and harmony, urging respect among people to achieve national stability and global peace. He remarked that Malaysia’s diversity is a unique trait proudly showcased to the world through its tourism industry.

He further noted that Malaysia’s rich heritage, culture, traditions, and wellness retreats offer unique experiences catering to the rising global demand for cultural and health-conscious travel. As Malaysia actively promotes Visit Malaysia 2026, Tiong called on ambassadors, industry leaders, and business partners to collaborate in showcasing Malaysia’s tourism offerings.

The minister concluded by emphasizing the need for strong public-private partnerships and cross-border collaborations to elevate Malaysia as a premier destination, ensuring long-term sustainability and global recognition.
