ENERtec Asia, MIDA Team Up To Drive Renewable Energy And Storage Investments

Kuala lumpur: ENERtec Asia 2026, Southeast Asia's premier energy technology exhibition and conference, is partnering with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) to strengthen Malaysia's position as a regional hub for clean energy investments, renewable energy (RE) technologies, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). According to BERNAMA News Agency, the strategic collaboration underscores the pivotal role that clean energy and intelligent storage infrastructure play in anchoring Malaysia's rapidly expanding digital economy. MIDA chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid emphasized that by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionize Malaysia's energy infrastructure, the country could fast-track its net-zero goals. MIDA is thrilled to stand alongside ENERtec Asia 2026 as a strategic partner for the second time, remarked Datuk Sikh Shamsul. He highlighted that this year's theme perfectly captures the trajectory of Malaysia's industrial transformation. F urthermore, by bridging private sector innovation with government facilitation, green ambitions can be translated into actionable, investment-ready opportunities that will drive sustainable economic growth for both local and international investors. Scheduled to take place from June 3-5, 2026, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, ENERtec Asia 2026 will be co-located with The Energy Transition Conference (ETCon) organized by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) under the theme "Energy and AI: The Synergy for Energy Transition". The platform will explore how the convergence of AI, RE, power grid, and advanced energy storage technologies is reshaping industrial operations, infrastructure planning, and sustainable development across ASEAN. A key feature of the event will be WATT'S NEXT, a seminar and workshop platform focusing on two strategic pillars, namely Energy and AI, and Renewable Energy and BESS. As part of the program, MIDA will lead a dedicated session on emerging growth sectors, public-private investment fram eworks, and investment opportunities under Malaysia's National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). Meanwhile, to maximize industry participation, the event will launch the SPOT ENERtec Asia Campaign, a high-impact mix of Klang Valley outdoor advertising, targeted digital activations, and on-ground engagement. Organized by Informa Markets Malaysia and co-hosted by The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM), the event is expected to attract over 12,000 industry professionals from 60 countries and regions, alongside 1,000 companies and brands across seven exhibition halls. The event is endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), with the Energy Commission of Sabah serving as a strategic partner. Industry professionals, investors, and corporate decision-makers are encouraged to pre-register online to secure their access to the exhibition and high-level conference tracks.
