Kuala lumpur: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has confirmed that mixed doubles player Toh Ee Wei has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming Indonesia Open 2026 due to a knee injury. Ee Wei sustained the injury during her quarter-final match at the Singapore Open last week.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the injury was diagnosed as a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in Ee Wei's left knee, following an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) assessment. Consequently, Ee Wei and her mixed doubles partner, Chen Tang Jie, have had to withdraw from the Indonesia Open 2026, as announced in a statement released by BAM today.
Ee Wei is scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI assessment next Friday. Based on the results, BAM's medical team will decide on the appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plan for her recovery.
