Terengganu: The Ministry of Education (MOE) has decided to entrust the investigation of a recent liquor auction held within a school compound to the relevant authorities. The incident, which rapidly gained attention online, has prompted the MOE to take a firm stance on maintaining the integrity of educational environments.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek emphasized that the ministry will not compromise on any misconduct or breaches of regulations within educational institutions. She assured that the issue has been escalated to the appropriate authorities for a thorough investigation. “We have handed the matter over to the relevant authorities for investigation. We will not tolerate any misconduct or breaches of the rules. Action will be taken,” Fadhlina stated while speaking to reporters after the closing ceremony of the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 in Terengganu.
The Education Minister highlighted that investigations are ongoing, particularly concerning reports of a scuffle that occurred during the auction. She affirmed that the Ministry would remain vigilant, ensuring that regulations are upheld and that suitable actions are implemented. The incident, which occurred at a primary school in Pontian, Johor, has ignited public outrage, prompting calls for accountability and stringent measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
