Kuala Lumpur: Rapid economic recovery and resilience, as well as the people’s capabilities to help the country progress, have become attractive factors for foreign investors to come to Malaysia, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He highlighted that foreign leaders and companies are closely observing Malaysia’s strong economic growth and high investment inflows, especially as many other countries are still grappling with post-COVID-19 recovery challenges.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized Malaysia’s unique position as a nation where diverse ethnicities and religions coexist peacefully. He noted that while some countries have been weakened by scandals and the pandemic, Malaysia is experiencing robust growth, significant investments, and is establishing itself as a hub for data centers and semiconductors.
Anwar attributed the nation’s ability to attract foreign investors to the people’s capabilities in advancing and elevating the country. “Why (do investments come)? Because they see the capabilities of the people,” he stated, expressing gratitude towards the youths, management, traders, and cleaners who contribute significantly to the economy.
The Prime Minister also mentioned upcoming visits from foreign leaders, including the presidents of China and South Africa. These visits, initially postponed during Ramadan, are expected to resume after April.
