EC-Council Unveils AI Governance Framework and Assessment Tool

Kuala lumpur: EC-Council has launched its Adopt. Defend. Govern. (ADG) artificial intelligence (AI) framework and a free AI Readiness Self-Assessment Tool aimed at helping organisations manage AI governance, security, and compliance. The cybersecurity certification and training organisation stated that the framework was developed with input from industry practitioners and advisory board members from companies including Citi, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, KPMG, Deloitte, NTT Data, and Salesforce.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, EC-Council Group President, Jay Bavisi, highlighted that many organisations had prioritised rapid AI deployment while governance and security frameworks struggled to keep pace, increasing the risk of operational and compliance failures. Bavisi emphasized that the ADG Framework was developed to restore operational discipline, establish accountability, and help organisations operationalise AI responsibly before governance failures become systemic business liabilities.

The ADG framework is structured around three operational pillars, 12 minimum controls, and nine governance surfaces designed to align with the European Union AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology AI Risk Management Framework. EC-Council explained that the framework is intended to help organisations address risks associated with AI deployment, including model exploitation, prompt injection, adversarial attacks, and governance accountability across large language models and agentic AI environments.

Additionally, the company introduced a free AI Readiness Self-Assessment Tool designed to help organisations evaluate governance maturity, operational resilience, and AI risk exposure. EC-Council also launched three new AI-related certifications aligned with the ADG operating model, covering AI programme management, offensive AI security, and responsible AI governance and ethics.
