Nagoya:National squash ace Ng Eain Yow successfully defended his Asian Games men's singles gold medal by defeating India's Abhay Singh 11-9, 11-5, 11-5 in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 final at the Nagoya Kinjofuto Arena today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Eain Yow's victory marked Malaysia's fifth gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 games, adding to two golds in karate and one each in e-sports and sepak takraw.
The 28-year-old Kuala Lumpur-born player not only retained his title from four years ago but also secured an early qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games (LA28).
Eain Yow has maintained a perfect record against Abhay Singh, having won all four of their previous encounters, the most recent being at the 2024 Malaysia Squash Cup.
