Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Football League (MFL) today confirmed that DPMM FC of Brunei Darussalam will fully sponsor the 2025-2026 season Super League teams who will have to travel to the country for matches.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MFL acting chief executive officer Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd stated that the sponsorship is part of the main agreement between MFL and DPMM FC to ensure the smooth participation of the club in the local league competition. Mohd Shazli emphasized the significance of this agreement, noting that DPMM FC requested the sponsorship arrangement for the upcoming season.

Additionally, Mohd Shazli clarified that although DPMM FC participates in the Malaysian League, the club is not eligible to represent the country in Asian level tournaments such as the AFC Cup or those organized by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). Furthermore, Mohd Shazli announced that 12 teams have confirmed their match venues for the new season, with Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan designated as an alternative venue for state-level issues.

Immigration FC has been given a deadline to confirm their venue, while MFL plans to visit Brunei for a special briefing session with DPMM FC. Mohd Shazli highlighted that the East Coast area venues are settled, and ongoing inspections in the northern peninsula will conclude once all venues are confirmed.
