Kota Kinabalu: The Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, today received a courtesy call from Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin at Istana Seri Kinabalu.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamed Khaled shared on his official Facebook page that this was their inaugural meeting since Musa’s appointment as the 11th Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah in January. The meeting provided Mohamed Khaled with an opportunity to update Musa on the security situation in Sabah and discuss defence challenges both locally and internationally.
Mohamed Khaled stated that the Federal Government is committed to ensuring Sabah’s security and has allocated over RM2 billion for the development of defence infrastructure in the state. This includes the construction of three new security posts to bolster Sabah’s sovereignty and safety.
During the meeting, Mohamed Khaled extended an invitation to Musa to attend LIMA ’25, scheduled from May 20 to 24. He expressed hope that the collaboration between Sabah and the Ministry of Defence would continue to strengthen, addressing security challenges more effectively and ensuring the region’s peace and safety.
