Kelana Jaya: Police have completed recording the statement of a student management assistant suspected of assaulting an autistic child at a primary school in Kelana Jaya. Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Shahrulnizam Ja’afar stated that their investigation revealed the incident occurred when an autistic student threw a tantrum after being asked to remove his shoes before entering the classroom.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the student’s parents took their child to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) for an examination, which found no injuries. Shahrulnizam confirmed that statements from the school’s principal, deputy principal, and the student’s parents were also recorded to aid the investigation.
Yesterday, Shahrulnizam mentioned that the police had opened an investigation paper related to this case. This development followed the detection of a video involving the seven-year-old autistic child on the TikTok application on Saturday. The case is currently being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
