Cyberjaya: The Malaysia CyberSecurity Centre of Excellence (CCoE) in Cyberjaya has benefited nearly 10,000 civil servants and ICT professionals through various courses and certifications since 2024, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He highlighted that this initiative has bolstered the country's preparedness amid increasingly complex cyber threats and post-quantum challenges.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar shared in a Facebook post that he recently met with a delegation from BlackBerry Ltd, led by CEO and President John Giamatteo. The meeting also included representatives from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The discussions revolved around efforts to enhance local competencies in cybersecurity and future technologies.
During the meeting, Anwar was briefed on strategic collaborations like the Smart Campus programme and the development of BlackBerry QNX technology for sectors such as electric vehicles, semiconductors, and industrial automation. Additionally, discussions covered the PeritoCare portable dialysis device, a locally developed innovation.
Anwar expressed his hopes for continued synergy among the government, industry, and academia to advance and elevate locally developed innovations and technologies on the global stage.
