Singapore: Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky is adopting cyber immunity as a new strategic approach to combat cybercrime.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kaspersky’s latest research found that 73 per cent of cybersecurity professionals view cyber immunity as an effective strategy to prevent cybercriminals from penetrating networks and compromising systems. Its managing director, Adrian Hia, stated that this new cyber awareness could help companies grow without the fear of attacks.
Hia explained that companies are converging their operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems, which can be a challenge in building cyber resilience. He noted that having a way to be immune to malware and ransomware attacks could alleviate concerns about cybersecurity. Hia made these comments during Kaspersky’s press conference at GITEX Asia 2025.
The research involved nearly 850 cybersecurity professionals from regions including the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Turkiye, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Russia. Kaspersky defined cyber immunity as a concept where IT and OT systems are secure by design due to specific development methodologies and architectural requirements. This inherent resilience minimizes the costs associated with external cybersecurity solutions.
Hia emphasized that achieving cyber immunity takes time and occurs in stages. He urged that any company undergoing digitalization should prioritize cyber immunity from the start, expressing belief that the evolution of cybersecurity will lead to a state of cyber immunity.
Kaspersky joins GITEX Asia as the Cyber Immunity partner and plans to host a dedicated Kaspersky Cyber Immunity Conference at the exhibition venue. This event will feature insights from industry experts discussing IT and OT convergence, the cyber immunity approach, and other cybersecurity topics.
GITEX Asia, part of the GITEX GLOBAL network, is renowned as the world’s largest technology exhibition and startup event. It is being held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from April 23 to 25.
