Melaka: The Creative Video Competition organised in conjunction with the 2026 National Security Month at the Melaka State Level successfully served as an effective platform to raise public awareness about the importance of safeguarding national security through creative and impactful digital content.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Melaka State Security Director Norazle Sulaiman stated that the competition, themed "National Security is a Shared Responsibility," was organised by the Melaka State National Security Council (MKN) to foster a spirit of collective responsibility among citizens regarding national security aspects.
Participants from various walks of life were given the opportunity to produce creative videos based on one of the elements or core values embedded within the National Security Policy. These videos featured a range of ideas addressing cyber security, national unity, political stability, public safety, and current security threats that require cooperation from all parties.
The competition also aimed to unearth creative talent in digital content creation while serving as an effective public education medium. It was designed to enhance the community's understanding of the National Security Policy and the role of every individual in ensuring the country's peace and well-being.
The competition's champion, Muhammad Zarul Afify, 28, won with a video titled "National Security is a Shared Responsibility." His video highlighted the Core Value of National Unity as a crucial element in guaranteeing national security. Muhammad Zarul emphasized that national security requires the active involvement of the entire community, not just the authorities.
Muhammad Zarul received a cash prize of RM1,500, a complimentary gift, and a certificate of participation. He will represent Melaka at the national-level competition. Second place went to Syamil Sahat, 31, who received RM1,000 in cash, a gift, and a certificate, while third place was awarded to Amizan Lokman, 28, who won RM500 in cash, a gift, and a certificate.
