Alor gajah: A college student was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Jalan Bukit Tambun, Durian Tunggal, here today. Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Ahmad Abu Bakar stated that the incident occurred at about 7.45 am, resulting in the 20-year-old victim sustaining serious injuries and being pronounced dead at Melaka Hospital.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, initial investigations revealed that the Honda motorcycle ridden by the student was traveling from Sungai Udang to Selandar Community College. It collided with the rear right side of a Honda City driven by a 48-year-old woman. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown into the opposite lane, where he was subsequently hit by a trailer driven by a 49-year-old man.
Ahmad explained that the collision caused significant damage to the student's motorcycle. The severely injured victim was immediately rushed to Melaka Hospital. The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Authorities are urging members of the public with information related to the incident to contact the investigating officer, Insp Nurul Salina Rosli, at 011-2543 5507 to assist in the investigation.
