Jakarta:The Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, expressed confidence in civil servants' readiness to effectively implement government policies, including Budget 2027.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Shamsul Azri emphasized the importance of civil servants' commitment to ensure that the benefits of economic growth are shared by all. He described their responsibilities as a National Covenant, highlighting the need for swift and effective policy implementation.
In his statement, Shamsul Azri thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, also the Finance Minister, for tabling Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat. The budget, themed "Reaching for the Skies, While Anchored on Our Values", allocates RM459.8 billion, with RM376.8 billion for operating expenditure and RM83 billion for development expenditure, focusing on eight key priorities.
The budget includes measures such as raising the minimum wage to RM2,000, along with various tax incentives and exemptions. Additionally, it provides subsidies, assistance, and incentives totaling RM80 billion, as well as Special Financial Assistance of RM1,500 for civil servants and RM750 for government retirees.
Shamsul Azri noted that Budget 2027 demonstrates the government's dedication to prioritizing the welfare of the people while maintaining a balance in national development, economic sustainability, and fiscal resilience.
