Civil Servants Embrace Promotions and Financial Assistance Under Budget 2027

Rabat:Civil servants have expressed appreciation for the one-off promotion offered to 12,000 management and professional officers and the RM1,500 Special Financial Assistance included in Budget 2027, recognizing their contributions and helping alleviate living costs.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, civil servant K. Yuvarany, 34, described the one-off promotion as a significant reward for those who have long awaited career advancement due to limited posts in the civil service. She noted that the initiative reflects the government's recognition of long-serving officers with excellent performance.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced during the Budget 2027 presentation that the government will implement a one-off promotion through the Personal-to-Holder method for 12,000 eligible officers. This move aims to honor outstanding personnel still waiting for promotions due to limited positions.

On the RM1,500 Special Financial Assistance, another civil servant, S. Kamalesswari, 35, emphasized the importance of spending the aid wisely, viewing it as motivation to enhance work quality and public service delivery. Muhammad Ikmal Syah Jusoh, 29, expressed hope that the assistance will help manage living costs, particularly for family and household expenses. The government plans to distribute the assistance to 1.3 million civil servants in Grade Utama B and below, including contract appointees, in two phases linked to Aidilfitri celebrations and the eve of the nation's 70th independence anniversary.

Additionally, parents have welcomed the increase in the Early Schooling Aid (BAP) from RM150 to RM200, aiding back-to-school preparations. V. Gohmala, a Transport Ministry staff member, highlighted the significance of the increased aid for purchasing school necessities. The aid will benefit 5.3 million pupils, with an allocation of RM1 billion, and will be distributed at schools to foster parental involvement with teachers and support students' academic and character development.
