Kuala Lumpur: CIMB Bank Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd (CIMB) have introduced Malaysia’s first transport-related debit card benefits via the CIMB Visa Debit Card.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, CIMB Group announced that users would benefit from a 20 per cent cash back on both local and international tolls and transit-related activities. Additionally, there is a 30 per cent discount available for travels on KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit.

The 20 per cent cash back applies to Malaysian public transport options such as passenger railways like KTM, MRT, and LRT. It also covers taxis, e-hailing services such as Grab, and bus transportation through platforms like EasyBook and Redbus. Eligible highway tolls include DUKE, KESAS, LDP, and LEKAS, as well as bridge toll fees for both Penang Bridges, the Johor-Singapore Causeway, and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link. Other transportation services such as the Langkawi Cable Car are also included.

CIMB Group added that the cash back campaign extends to overseas usage for a variety of transportation options. This includes public transport, taxis, e-hailing services, railways, and bus lines such as Gojek, Uber, Eurostar, JR Railway, as well as tolls and bridges in selected locations.

CIMB chief executive officer Gurdip Singh Sidhu stated that the campaign is aimed at encouraging greater usage of debit cards amidst the expanding array of payment options within Malaysia and the region’s transportation network. He emphasized that this initiative is part of CIMB’s mission to support customers and society by enhancing the value of their spending.
