Kuala lumpur: The Cabinet Ministers manifested the spirit of patriotism across their respective social media platforms in conjunction with the National Day celebration, calling on all Malaysians to strengthen the spirit of togetherness and love for the country.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, posts uploaded on Facebook, X, and Instagram by the Cabinet ministers emphasized the importance of defending the independence that is the result of the hard work and sacrifices of past generations. These messages were aimed at ensuring a bright future for the nation.
A notable highlight was an eight-minute video featuring prominent veteran actor Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan. In the video, he portrayed a grandfather sharing profound messages about sacrifice, unity, and responsibility toward the country with his grandchild. This emotional clip was shared on the Facebook account of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who also included his own special address.
"Malaysia belongs to all of us. Guard its sovereignty, respect its differences, and strengthen the spirit of togetherness so that our country continues to shine on the world stage. Come, let us kindle the sense of love, responsibility, and loyalty to the homeland. Wave the Jalur Gemilang with great pride," he stated.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi urged all citizens to maintain unity and fortify the nation, noting that the announcements made during the 2026 National Day Perdana Address demonstrate the government's commitment to responding to the needs of society.
He emphasized that the Unity Government is dedicated to ensuring that every policy, allocation, and decision made is based on the genuine needs of the people, allowing the benefits of development to be shared widely across all segments of society.
National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang expressed that independence should be filled with the aspiration of building a strong nation-state to guarantee a harmonious future for Malaysia. He highlighted that building a nation does not mean forgetting one's languages, cultures, religions, or origins, but rather creating a greater shared identity as Malaysians.
Minister of Defence Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin spoke on the need for all citizens to be involved in defending national sovereignty. He emphasized that the Total Defence (HANRUH) approach requires the participation of every individual in maintaining public order.
He also expressed gratitude to all personnel of the Malaysian Armed Forces for their continuous service in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and peace.
Minister of Home Affairs Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail highlighted that the current peace and security form the primary foundation for political stability and economic prosperity. He stressed that maintaining national harmony is a shared responsibility, not solely that of the government.
Minister of Human Resources Datuk Seri R. Ramanan called for Malaysians to strengthen unity during this independence period and ensure that national progress benefits every part of society. He noted that diversity is the strength that unites the country into a single Malaysian family.
Finally, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali described the independence enjoyed today as a major trust that demands the current generation to defend peace and maintain harmony. He urged the public to renew their resolve during the National Day and Sabah Day 2026 celebrations to ensure that the impact of national progress is experienced by the entire society.
