Kuala lumpur: Ahead of Deepavali tomorrow, several Cabinet ministers have begun sending out their Deepavali greetings to Hindus across the country via their respective social media. Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, through a post on Facebook, invited all Malaysians of all races and religions to continue to foster the spirit of unity and mutual respect for one another.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister of National Unity Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang hopes that the light of Deepavali will become a symbol of unity for all Malaysians, illuminating the path towards a prosperous, peaceful, and generous nation. He emphasized the importance of embracing humanity and celebrating diversity during the festival.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo encouraged people to draw inspiration from the Festival of Lights to develop themselves in various aspects, aligning with the ever-growing digital world. He extended his heartfelt Deepavali wishes to all Malaysians of Indian descent, urging them to strengthen bonds with loved ones.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil expressed hope that the Festival of Lights would bring joy, love, and peace into people’s lives. He shared his well-wishes on social media, reminding everyone of the significance of the celebration.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa prayed for the light of Deepavali to illuminate the lives of all Malaysians with love and harmony. She highlighted the importance of respecting cultural and religious diversity as a national strength.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad advised the public to take precautions regarding health, especially with the rise in influenza cases. He urged those unwell to stay home and practice good hygiene during the celebrations.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir also conveyed their Deepavali greetings, joining their colleagues in celebrating this significant festival.
