Kuala lumpur: A Cabinet Committee meeting focused on foreign workers, particularly in the food and beverage (F and B) sector, is scheduled to take place as early as next week. The meeting will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, as announced by MADANI Government spokesperson Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi, who also serves as the Communications Minister, explained that the decision was reached during today's Cabinet meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The aim is to ensure that issues concerning foreign workers are managed and resolved in a comprehensive manner.
"The Cabinet has decided that the committee meeting will be held as early as next week and will be chaired by Ahmad Zahid to ensure these issues can be managed and resolved," Fahmi stated during the weekly press conference.
He further noted that the government is aware of the challenges certain sectors are facing regarding manpower needs, with a particular focus on foreign workers. The upcoming meeting seeks to address and find solutions for these ongoing issues.
