Kuala Lumpur: The Cabinet welcomes all feedback and criticism on its performance and will take appropriate steps to address them, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He noted that during the MADANI Government Retreat 2025, Cabinet ministers received independent reports and assessments of their performance from academics and civil servants.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stated that the ministers were then given the opportunity to express their views on their commitment and determination to improve performance. He acknowledged that while the Cabinet’s performance has been commendable, there is still room for improvement, as the ministers are actively addressing the criticism and implementing necessary measures for enhancement.
The retreat also focused on the government’s need to reassess its approach to mitigating the impact of inflation on the public. Anwar emphasized that despite statistics indicating a low inflation rate, the issue of rising prices, especially for essential goods, remains a significant concern that the government is committed to addressing.
He highlighted that although the figures on economic growth, increased investment, security, and tourism appeal are positive, they hold true value only if the government can manage the rising cost of living that affects parts of society. This challenge remains a priority for the Cabinet as it continues its efforts to improve performance and address public concerns.
