Bukit Mertajam Welfare Drive Gives Out 100 Free Spectacles

Bukit mertajam: The Bukit Mertajam Kelab Wanita Muda and Bukit Mertajam Parliamentary Constituency Service Centre, led by its MP, Steven Sim Chee Keong, have brought clearer sight and brighter smiles to 100 senior citizens, school students, and children in special education through a free spectacles programme.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the spectacles were generously sponsored by GF Eyewear and disbursed at the Free Spectacles presentation ceremony at the Seberang Perai Tengah District Office Hall. The event was officiated by Seberang Perai City Council councillor and special officer to the Bukit Mertajam MP, T. Yoganraj Thever, on behalf of Sim, who is also the Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development.

Yoganraj stated that the initiative reflected the commitment of elected representatives and their strategic partners in safeguarding the well-being of the local community. He emphasized that the programme not only benefited the recipients but also strengthened the bond of cooperation between the private sector, community organizations, and elected representatives in building a more caring and prosperous community.

GF Eyewear general manager Ng Yi Cheah expressed the company's satisfaction in participating in the project, highlighting that clear vision is essential for learning and improving quality of life. In a similar vein, Bukit Mertajam Kelab Wanita Muda chairman Siti Nor Nasuha Mohd Rodzuan assured that the club will continue to implement welfare programmes to assist those in need.
