Bomb Threat At Prominent KL Building A Hoax – Police

Police have confirmed that a bomb threat made against a prominent building in the capital tonight was false. Brickfields district police chief ACP Hoo Chang Hook said police received a call regarding the incident at 9.09 pm from a security guard at the building.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the building's security guard informed the police that he had received an email sent to the customer service centre, stating that an individual had placed a bomb on the 23rd floor of the building's north tower. In response to the threat, a Bomb Disposal Unit, K9 Unit, and Forensic Unit were deployed to the location to conduct a thorough search.

The search concluded that the threat was unfounded, confirming it as a false alarm. The authorities are now investigating the incident under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 507 of the Penal Code, which pertain to the improper use of network facilities and criminal intimi dation, respectively.
